Here's one more suggestion for a recipe using Spanish snails. This one is for meat eaters as it combines snails with the Sobrasada sausage and ham.

They go together well, or so I am told by friends whose efforts to convert me to the delights of snails have so far failed.

The Sobrasada sausage comes from the Balearic Islands and is made from the meat of local black pigs.

Here's a refreshing way of trying snails - a surprisingly popular food in Spain and something I have written about in our articles section.

Why not serve them up with mushrooms? They are really good in Spain.

The chances are that you either like or loathe the idea of eating snails. But if you are in the former camp, then there are many ways to sample some super snails in Spain.

This simple recipe, considered to be a speciality of Catalunya, is just one of them.
